Bristol East is a small friendly club based to the north east of Bristol near Frampton Cotterell. We meet on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Members of the club model in a range of scales and gauges, the two most popular being OO-gauge and N-gauge.
Members of the club also have layouts that are available for exhibitions, such as
N-gauge “Aust Warth” which is set from the BR “blue diesel period” up to privatisation.
Barry & Penarth Model Railway Club Club Secretary: Rees N. 20, Fryatt Street , Barry, Vale Glam, CF63 4JU 21 Tel; 01446 402665 Email;
The club now has over 50 members, some of whom travel over 40 miles to attend club evenings on Tuesday and Thursdays each week.  Members have a wide range of interests in most scales and gauges up to O-gauge, both British and North American outline. This makes it one of the largest and most active model railway clubs in South Wales, which is now in its 33rd year, and for the past twenty two years has created its home on the top floor of the Cadoxton Conservative Club, Vere Street, Barry, CF63 2HU.
The Con Club allows us to use almost the entire top floor, so that several permanent layouts have been built in the clubrooms in N-gauge, OO-gauge, HO-American and O-gauge.  Several of these layouts span more than one room.  In the past few years we have created an extensive, well-equipped modelling room, in addition to a spray-booth room.  Members are encouraged to develop their modelling skills through sharing expertise with others.
The club also has an annual Open Day in October/November each year.
Regular meetings are held every Tuesday and Thursday evening in the clubrooms from 19.15 onwards.  Visitors are very welcome on
any club night - there is always something running.

Barnhill has had another very successful year, with many exhibitions, and have several bookings for this year. The ‘0’gauge layout ‘Kingsbury’ is doing well on the exhibition circuit and also appeared in the December 2016 addition of Hornby magazine. An extension/smaller layout is already in the pipeline (Rogersfield) along with more stock. There is also another small ‘00’ layout under construction and another waiting to be started. If you would like to find out more then please visit our website where we also have a work bench section with projects we are currently working on and can give help and advice. We hope you enjoy your day.
